My Mom Doesn’t Remember the Golf Tournament She Started Honoring Her 9/11 Hero Son. I Do. That’s Why I’m Bringing It Back🙏🏽❤️

By Silver Fox Twin Roy Williams-Birmingham, AL
After hosting a 25th anniversary 9/11 tribute ceremony to my hero brother on September 11 this year, I visited my mother, Pearl Williams, at her nursing home in Anniston. Reality of how dire her Alzheimer’s battle at age 84 has gotten sunk in as something I never imagined: my mom
no longer remembered that her son, Major Dwayne Williams, was killed at the Pentagon on 9/11. For the first time, she didn’t recognize me.
That moment convinced me I couldn’t let the tournament she worked so hard to build disappear, too.
So I’m bringing back the Major Dwayne Williams Memorial Golf Classic after a 8-year hiatus on Monday, November 9 at Silos Golf Club in Trussville.
On Monday, 6 weeks before the tourney, online registration is officially OPEN.
