🇺🇸⛳ NEW DATE ANNOUNCEMENT: MAJOR DWAYNE WILLIAMS MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC — MAY 24, 2027!
Written by Silver Fox Twin Roy Williams Birmingham, Ala. -Sometimes, you have to slow down to get it right.
I’m announcing that the Major Dwayne Williams Memorial Golf Classic, originally scheduled for November 9, 2026, has been rescheduled for Monday, May 24, 2027 — one week before Memorial Day — at Silos Golf Club in Trussville, Alabama.
Why the change? I want to give myself more time to properly plan the tournament, recruit players and sponsors, promote the event, and get the Roy L. Williams Legacy Foundation organized to support the mission behind it.
As the saying goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Rather than rush to put everything together, I’m taking the time to build something special that can grow into an annual tradition.
The new date is especially meaningful. My brother, Army Major Dwayne Williams, was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Holding this event just before Memorial Day allows us to honor his military service, celebrate his life, support scholarships, and carry his legacy forward.
