6 Weeks to Go: Major Dwayne Williams Golf Classic Partners With GolfStatus

Today marks six weeks until the 2026 Major Dwayne Williams Memorial Golf Classic, returning Monday, Nov. 9, during Veterans Week at Silos Golf Club in Trussville.

And now, golfers and sponsors have an easy way to get involved.

We are excited to announce that the tournament now has its own registration website through GolfStatus, where players can register and businesses can select sponsorship opportunities.

Proceeds benefit scholarships at my alma mater, Jacksonville State, scholarships at Dwayne's alma mater, University of North Alabama, and scholarships I will present to students across Alabama through my new foundation.

The tournament is a four-person scramble, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Individual players are $125, or a four-person team can register for $500.

Your registration includes 18 holes, lunch, a swag bag, tournament T-shirt and entry into the contests, including the $10,000 Hole-in-One Contest. If multiple players make the winning shot, they split the prize.

There also will be Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Putting contests, with gift prizes for those winners, along with a silent auction, door prizes and additional shirts and hats for purchase.

Various sponsorships are available, including $500 for exclusive hole sponsors (receive 2 player tickets worth $250), shared hole sponsors for $250 (receive 1 player ticket). We also have pinned hole and other ponsorships available.

This tournament is about much more than golf. It aims to honor and carry forward the legacy of my brother, Army Major Dwayne Williams, who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, and continuing the scholarship legacy started by our mother, Pearl Williams.

Over the next six weeks, we'll share more of Dwayne's story, our family's connection to this tournament, the history behind the scholarships and the people helping us bring the event back.

Each golf player will receive t-shirts shirts featuring this logo below. There will be golf hats available for purchase as well as other Dwayne Williams Golf Classic t-shirts, with proceeds benefiting scholarships and my new foundation.
