I will get my popcorn šŸæ to watch Lane Kiffin and LSU’s return to Ole Miss tonight.

I’m glad one rumor floating around social media isn’t true:

āŒ Ole Miss did notĀ buy 45,000 LED golf balls to hand out to fans for Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford.

That was a hoax/joke — although considering what happened the last time Kiffin faced a hostile former fan base, I can understand why somebody believed it! šŸ˜‚

Back in 2021, when Kiffin returned to Tennessee with Ole Miss, fans threw debris onto the field, including a golf ball that struck Kiffin and a mustard bottle. The game was delayed as officials and security worked to restore order.

Now Kiffin is returning to Oxford — this time as LSU’s head coach — to face the Ole Miss Rebels.

And let’s just say… this one has some history.

Ole Miss has announced significantly increased security for the game, with additional law enforcement and crowd-management measures planned.

I expect the atmosphere to be LOUD.

I expect the boos.

I expect plenty of signs, jokes and SEC-level smack talk.

But hopefully no golf balls. No mustard bottles. No flying anything.Ā šŸ˜‚

Because there’s a big difference between passionate college football rivalry and putting players, coaches or fans in danger.

šŸˆ The real question:

What will Kiffin’s first return to Oxford as the LSU coach be like?

One thing is certain:

The Grove is going to have a LOT to say.Ā šŸ˜‚
